Mitsufuji Corporation (CEO: Ayumu Mitera, Head office: Kyoto) is announcing the launch of general wearable brand named hamonTM (The trademark registration is currently under processing) as of December 12,2016.
We, as a fiber manufacturer, have been offering conductive fiber AGposs®, and providing various fiber materials to our customers. From now on, we as a general wearable manufacturer, will focus on in-house development and sales including “wearable vital sensors” in apparel, “transmitters” in electronic products and “algorithm software, clouds” in IT.
As the first products, we have launched all-in-one electrode wearable sensors, which we have highly focused on “comfortable feeling” with the use of Whole Garment®. We have also launched small
transmitters that enable to receive information such as ECG, RRI, acceleration and gyro. We will provide IoT services working together with algorithm of various subcontractors.
As the general wearable manufacturer, Mitsufuji will provide solutions for social issues in Japan, and will create society we all can live healthy and peacefully.
About hamon™ (The trademark registration is currently under processing)
hamon™ is the general wearable brand providing total solutions including “wearable vital sensors” in apparel, “transmitters” in electronic products and “algorithm software, clouds” in IT.
A name of hamon™ comes from a Japanese word “hamon” (“ripples” in English). We had a clue from Chozubachi (wash-basins that typically can be seen in Japanese gardens). Images of both ripples from drops of water that spreads on the surface of the water and of heartbeats and energy through breathing that spread out a whole body perfectly overlapped with our wearable devices which can receive and analyze vital data. Furthermore, this name implies that Mitsufuji founded Nishijin textile, one of the traditional industries in Kyoto, will ripple around the world by making full use of the latest and newest technology with fibers.
※About Whole Garment®
It is the registered trademark for SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD., and seamless knitwear sewed by the world’s first seamless flat knitting machine originally developed by this company. Unlike in the case of the traditional method sewing together with separate parts such as the front and the back and sleeves, it is directly sewed by knitting machine in a three-dimensional way as a whole. Therefore, this new method brings out softness and lightness of true knits, and makes our products with drapes and great-fitting as well. Furthermore, it brings out not to improve drapes and great-fitting but to prevent cutting and deterioration of conductive performance by sewing.
Examples of services using hamon™
“Healthcare for employees and protection system”, co-sponsored with Panasonic Solution Technologies Co., Ltd., can gather data such as depths of sleeping, heartrate, breathing and sleeping condition for employees. It leads to health-control and advice to visualize sleeping states, and to judge in a comprehensive way by using algorithm. In the next year, we will launch a new hazard prevention service such as detecting sleepiness for engaged persons on site like long-distance and railroad drivers only by putting wearable devices on.
